Global Tech – OSS platform
The OSS offshore substation was installed in May 2013, located in the North Sea, 138km off the cost of Emden – Germany. The windfarm consists of 80 turbines with a total output of 400MW.
Wescott Industrial Services were contracted by Global Tech to complete the remediation of all paint touch ups on the Offshore Transformer Module (OTM) – OSS. This project was awarded as part of a 4 year framework agreement.
Wescott had 6 crew total with 3 POB working on the OTM at any given time. Wescott overcome many logistical challenges with the impact of COVID19 and mobilising the men across Europe. Added with the further impact of Brexit, we still successfully utilised all cargo getting transported from UK to Germany, with all relevant export / import documentation completed to a high standard, ensuring material was sent offshore as per programme.
All work carried out is supported by a three-year warranty.

Overall Performance: we can evaluate the overall performance excellent as in all departments the feedback was very positive (HSE, Coordination, Legal, QA, Asset Management, OSS-Team). Also the COVID-Situation was handled very professional.
Technical Competence: excellent, the works have been supervised Offshore by our Frosios and documentation is reviewed at the moment (only minor comments).
HSE: all works have been prepared excellent from HSE point of view. Also the feedback of the SSTeamregarding the Rope Access works was very positive.
Delivery Performance: good- the seafastening inside the paint container can be improved
Attitude: very good and uncomplicated working together with Wescott-back office and the offshore teams. Wewould like to work together with the same persons next year.
